Battery LifePO4 Victron 12.8V-100AH SMART, like all of the LifePO4 family, is one of the safest li-ion batteries. The nominal voltage of an LFP cell is 3.2V (lead-acid: 2V / cell). A 12.8V battery LFP, therefore, consists of 4 cells connected in series; and a 25.6V battery consists of 8 cells connected in series.

Robust batteries
Conventional lead-acid batteries usually fail ahead of time due to sulfation when:
• They work in deficit mode for long periods of time (if the battery does not get fully charged usual)
• They are partially loaded or, even worse, completely discharged (such as yachts or caravans during winter).
On the contrary, the battery LifePO4 Victron 12.8V-100Ah Smart Smart does not need to be fully charged. Its useful life even improves when the battery is partially charged instead of full loading. This is the decisive advantage that the LFP batteries is overhead compared to the traditional lead-acid. Other advantages to highlight are the wide range of work temperatures, its excellent cyclical performance, low internal resistance and high efficiency.
The chemical composition of LFP is the appropriate choice for very demanding applications, such as energy storage in vessels and vehicles.
Efficient
In several applications, energy efficiency can be crucial, especially in applications not connected to the network such as boats or vehicles, or in isolated solar installations.
The energy efficiency of the complete cycle (discharge from 100% to 0% and return to 100%) of a normal acid and lead battery is 80%.
Again, the energy efficiency of the full cycle of a LiFePO4 battery Victron 12.8V-100AH SMART is 92%.
The loading process of lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient when the load state of 80% is reached, resulting in 50% or even lower efficiencies in solar systems in which reservations are needed for several days (batteries running between 70% and 100% load).
On the contrary, an LFP battery will continue to achieve an efficiency of 90% under mild discharge conditions.

Are LifePo4 batteries profitable?
Although LFP batteries may seem more expensive compared to lead-acid, if they are used in demanding applications, the high initial cost will be more than compensated by a longer service life, superior reliability and excellent efficiency. That is, they are especially profitable in the middle and long term because they guarantee a greater life cycle than conventional batteries.
Connectivity via Bluetooth
Thanks to its Bluetooth connection, it is easier than ever to know the battery status and monitor parameters such as cell tension, your temperature or alarm states. It is a particularly useful application when it comes to detecting possible problems, such as an imbalance of cells.
Being equipped with Bluetooth, the battery can communicate with the victronconnect application. The VICTRONCONNECT application is used to read the battery information, make adjustments in it or modify them, receive alarms and update the firmware.
LifePO4 batteries such as LifePO4 Victron 12.8V-100AH Smart Smart battery have balanced and integrated cell control. Up to 5 batteries can be installed in parallel and up to four 12V or two 24V batteries in series, so that a 48V and up to 1500Ah battery bank can be configured. Balance / cell control cables can be connected in a string and must be connected to a battery management system (BMS).
