Lithium-iron-phosphate (LIFEPO4 or LFP) is the safest of lithium-ion battery types. The nominal voltage of an LFP cell is 3.2V (lead-acid: 2V / cell). Therefore, an LFP battery of 12.8V consists of 4 cells connected in series; and a 25.6V battery consists of 8 cells connected in series.

A lead-acid battery will fail prematurely due to sulfation:
If it works in deficit mode for long periods of time (that is, if the battery rarely, or never, it is completely loaded).
If it is left partially charged or, worse, fully discharged (yacht or mobile home during the winter).
An LFP battery does not need to be fully charged. Healthful life even slightly improves in case of a partial load instead of a full load. This is one of the main advantages of LFP compared to lead-acid. Other advantages are the wide range of operating temperatures, excellent cyclic performance, low internal resistance and high efficiency (see below).
Therefore, LFP is the chemistry chosen for the most demanding applications.

Efficient
In several applications (especially solar and / or wind energy out of the network), energy efficiency can be of crucial importance.
Roundtrip energy efficiency (100% free 0% discharge from 100% load) from the medium lead acid battery is 80%.
The energy efficiency of a round trip of an LFP battery is 92%.
The loading process of lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient when the charge statement of 80% is reached, which results in 50% or even less efficiencies in which several days of reserve energy are needed (the battery works in a load state of the 70% to 100%). On the contrary, an LFP battery will continue to reach an efficiency of 90% in shallow discharge conditions.

LFP batteries are faces compared to lead-acid. But in demanding applications, the high initial cost will be coopeted for greater useful life, greater reliability and excellent efficiency.
Bluetooth
With the Bluetooth, the voltages of the cells, the temperature and the state of the alarms can be controlled. Very useful to locate a problem (potential), such as the imbalance of cells.
BMS
Our LFP batteries have an integrated balance and cell monitoring system. Up to 5 batteries can be parallel and connecting up to four 12V or two 24V batteries, so that a 48V battery bank of up to 1500Ah can be assembled. Balance / cell monitoring cables can be connected in a chain and must be connected to a battery management system (BMS).
