The essential Saltiga evolves and brings together the latest Daiwa technologies at the service of strong fishing. To meet the needs of all anglers, a new sizing system has been applied to the Saltiga 2020, also proposing two types of cranks.

Enhanced Durability

The frame of the Saltiga 2020 benefits from the latest Daiwa innovations: its Monocoque Body structure in a single symmetrical machined piece provides the reel with greater watertightness. Entirely made of aluminium, it increases the solidity of the frame. The frame-encapsulated control wheel is wider (46mm) and thicker (8.7mm) than the previous version of the Saltiga (2015), while being lighter thanks to its G1 Duralumin composition. To limit erosion, the reel is painted with 5 superimposed layers: anodized, antistatic paint, primer, paint and varnish. The aluminum Air Rotor is stiffer than ZAION carbon and more powerful, so the pick-up arm is stronger. On both sides of the control wheel, two MagSealed bearings ensure fluidity and tightness in the Saltiga. We found Mag Oil in the sprocket and pick-up roller.

For strong fishing with total peace of mind

The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) brake system is now made up of 14 elements compared to 6 on the 2015 Saltiga, making the 2020 Saltiga ten times more powerful and durable than its predecessor. The brake button has also been redesigned: it gains in ergonomics thanks to its 42% enlargement. Like the button cap and brake collar (two internal components), the brake button is aluminum. This allows heat transfer and dissipation that guarantees the fluidity and efficiency of the Saltiga. To regulate the brake precisely, the click sound has been intensified. Ideal for measuring game fish, the round or oval aluminum grip offers a powerful yet comfortable grip. Always with the aim of maximizing the pleasure of fishing, the Saltiga 2020 is equipped with an LC-ABS (Long Cast) spool that ensures smooth line output and reduces the risk of wiggling. Another practical detail of the Saltiga 2020 is found in the pick-up, whose opening and closing are controlled by a mechanism that prevents the reel from turning during casting.

A new scale of sizes

In the interest of consistency with small spinning reels, the 2020 Saltiga range adopts a new scale of sizes: from 8000 (corresponding to size 4500 on the 2015 Saltiga) to 20000 (previously size 8000).



With this new range, the Saltiga pushes the limits of performance even further thanks to the high technologies that equip it. It only remains for the fishermen to have it in their hands and beat their records.
