The white asticot or Calliphora vomiting, is the larva commonly known as meat flies. From the family of the Brazilian dipteros, as its own name indicates, this is white, although the colors can vary from white to black, passing by light brown and red.
Vermiform structure, not more than 1 or 2 centimeters.
This species in larvary phase uses protein enzymes and performs a crushing action with its oral apparatus to be able to penetrate the bodies of the organisms of which they feed.
