This pencil-shaped lure imitates a small needle fish, the main food of all large predators (anjovas, palometón, sea bass, tuna in general, llampugas, skewers...). The standard 25-gram version is sinking and allows us to search for predators in different layers of water and work the lure with different actions and rhythms.

Do not confuse with sinking stickbaits or jig minnows!
The characteristics of Don Belone are not similar to those of any other lure, hence its great originality. The first impression of the spinner that handles it is that it is a "surface pencil", the typical lure with which we limit ourselves to "combing" the surface by making it run, displacing water with its mouth and, with toe shots, try to imitate a fish in distress that draws attention erratically. It is true that this is very good for Don Belone and allows him to make a difference, but… it is not limited to being a simple pencil , since the fish do not always want to attack in those conditions. Limiting yourself to that means not extracting even 50% of its magnificent potential from this lure. Seriously: if you want to see how far he can go, don't compare Don Belone to other lures; Don Belone is Don Belone. Spot.
Be free, my friend
In addition to working it like a pencil , try to throw it as far as you can, let it sink for a few seconds and, with your toe, make it rise to the surface with more or less strong jerks and at different speeds. When you have it close to the surface, try to jerk & stop in the first few centimeters of water, in linear retrieval. Several things can happen here:
• That you see behind Don Belone the predator that you had been looking for all day and you already thought had disappeared, usually vicious record fish.
• That, even if you don't see it, the animal comes in ambush a few meters below the lure and, at the most unexpected moment, gives you a spectacular attack on the surface.
• That -and this is most likely- Don Belone doesn't have time to show his head beyond the surface and you stay nailed in your tracks.
All this is Don Belone: a lure that will give you fish that you would have never dreamed of catching with a pencil . Don Belone's appeal starts from the moment you close the pick-up of your reel, in the layer of water you want.
