The new Zako Swimbait was designed by elite angler Brett Hite, and is his go-to swimbait tow bait when he casts babblers or has the urge to flip.
“I wanted a lure to mimic a bluegill or shad, but I wanted a fish profile with a bigger belly. It had to be strong enough to hold a hook or jig,” says Elite Angler Brett Hite, who finished second in Winyah Bay this year, mainly fishing for Zako.

Also, Brett wanted to keep the tail action tight, similar to real bait, so we designed the tail with accordion-style cutouts and a bridle tail that keeps the action minimal. Hook relationships are also improved as the tail folds back on itself when the fish bites.
Another key feature of the Zako, which is exceptionally useful when mounted as a pull bait, is the center line on the top of the bait - you will always know you are mounting it in the center and that means the Zako will always work correctly. ”
