Information regarding range and speed
In conventional navigation by displacement (as opposed to navigation in planing mode) the necessary power is multiplied raised to the third power with respect to the speed, which means that to double the speed of advance in the water, it is necessary to multiply by eight the engine power.
And vice versa: by minimally reducing the speed, a much greater autonomy is achieved.
The on-board computer of the Torqeedo Ultralight permanently calculates the remaining autonomy, based on the consumption data of the motor, the charge level of the batteries and the GPS speed. This remaining range is displayed in real time on both the engine display and the TorqTrac smartphone app.
